Product Description

The Human Immunodeficiency Virus 1 (HIV-1), RNA (bDNA) lab test is used for quantification of HIV-1 RNA in plasma of HIV-1 infected individuals. HIV-1 RNA results can be used to assess prognosis of disease progression and to monitor the efficacy of antiretroviral therapy by measuring changes in HIV-1 RNA levels during the course of therapy.

The HIV-1 RNA (bDNA) assay is not intended for use as a screening test for HIV or as a diagnostic test to confirm the presence of HIV infection. The assay has been validated only for group M HIV-1 subtypes A-G.
